We offer Plastic Compounding Services for:

Completed in our twin-screw extruders or Banbury mixers.  We can compound in a continuous process or in batches up to 2000 lb. Whether you need development quantities, a pilot study, require processing of fine or specialty chemicals, or are ready for commercialization and full production, Howard Industries is your plastic compunding partner.

Equipment

Twin Screw Extruders # of Units 3
NABCO units 100mm each. Counter rotating twin screws with changeable lobes for customers specified shear formulations. W & P ZSK 170 MM twin screw with changeable lobes for customer specified shear formulations.

Single Screw # of Units 2
Sterling - 6" 24:1 vented single screw extruder. Optional screw configuration for customer specified shear formulations.

Banbury Mixer # of Units 1
200 lb. Batch size, 4 speed Banbury type compounding mixer with a heated jacket and 6 additive feed system (1 feed stock resin 5 additive). This unit fluxes material thendrops to an 8" strainer extruder.

Pelletizers # of Units 6
All of the above extrusion equipment can be fitted with the following pelletizers: Underwater cut, hot face cut, or cold cut. Bonnot type extruder, 6" dia screw, hopper is 19" wide x 25' long x 14" deep, 12" long-jacketed barrel extension, 7.5 hp Vickers hydraulic drive. Werner & Pfleiderer twin screw extruder, type 25K120, side by side design, L/D 20, vented, electric heated, water cooled.

Quality Control
All products are transferred to Quality Control hold tanks @ 10,000 lbs for quality check and approval.

Post Blending Options # of Units 5
After quality approval, post blends or 10,000 to 440,000 lb. Lots can also be achieved to assure uniformity.

Packaging # of Units 7
Packaging performed to customer specification including, but not limited to, 25 kg bags 1,000 lb. Boxes, drums, bulk trucks/rail cars, bulk bags.
